Fred Junior Trent, 84, of Independence, MO went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 4900 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Fred was born March 24, 1926 in Sweet Springs, MO to Fred and Elizabeth (Narron) Trent. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict earning several medals before being honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Trent was united in marriage to Gloria Nadine Meyer on January 17, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was baptized on January 24, 1954 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Mr. Trent was an instructor at the US Trade School for nine years before joining Ford Motor Company where he worked for 30 years. Fred was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder. He was a member of the American Legion for 62 years. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gloria Trent; children Mark Trent and wife Wendie, Debbie Wooster, Teresa Daniel and husband Bill; he was blessed with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
