Hope L. Tribble, 83, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 12, 2003 at Independence Regional Health Center after many years of ill health. A memorial and celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, December 29th at 3 pm in the Independence Regional Health Center Chapel. Mr. Tribble was born in Boone County, Hallsville, MO July 9, 1920 to Earl and Christina (Finlay) Tribble. On August 20, 1948 he was married at the Old Liberty Street RLDS Church in Independence to Frances Lee Stark. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this past summer. He completed elementary school and graduated from Hallsville High School in 1939. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1939-1941. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and served on the USS Maryland battleship and participated in battles of Tarwai, Kwailean, Saipan and Timina Islands in the South Pacific against the Japanese from 1942-1945. Mr. Tribble worked for Amoco Oil in Sugar Creek, MO for 28 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Red Top Christian Church of Hallsville, MO and later became a member of the RLDS Church attending the West College and Gudgell Park Branches. At the time of his death he was a member of the South Crysler Restoration Branch. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Victor Tribble, and a sister, Edna Earle Tribble. He was a member of the Independence Knife and Fork Club, Amoco Oil Company Retirees Club, and a former member of the Shepherd's Center of America Adventures in Learning of Independence. Mr. Tribble is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Tribble; sons, Vaughn Tribble and wife Kathy of Blue Springs, MO, David Tribble and wife Alice of Lee's Summit, MO; granddaughters, Kelly Ann Tribble Files and husband Brandon, Nicole Leslie Tribble, all attending the University of Southern Mississippe in Hattiesburg, MS; granddaughter, Teresa Ruiz de Chavez of Blue Springs, MO; grandson, Brian Ruiz and wife Meghan Ruiz-Behrends; great grandson, Sullivan "Sully" Salvadore Ruiz-Behrends of O'Fallon, MO; brother, Ross Leslie Tribble of Hallsville, MO.
