Sheryl Lynette Trimble Lockridge went home to her Heavenly Father on January 24, 2021. We are left with aching hearts and an emptiness in our daily lives. Sheryl had given so much of her time and energy in November and December, 2020, to taking care of her parents who were ill. She will be forever missed. Sheryl was preceded in death by three loving grandparents: Neva Hobart Oehring, Hubert C. Glasgow, and Martha Copeland Glasgow. She is survived by two sons, Jacob Wilson Lockridge and Clayton Matthew Gooden; her father and mother, Thomas and Virginia Trimble; a sister Melinda (Harold) Shelby; nephew Caden Shelby; two half sisters, Susan (Terry) Boepple and Tammy (Terry) Craft; and uncles, aunts, and cousins all of whom she loved. Sheryl was born on May 26, 1968, in Independence, Missouri. She attended Luff Elementary and Truman High School. She finished her senior year at Blue Springs High School. While her children were still young, Sheryl attended Little Blue Metropolitan Community College and Longview Community College where she earned an Associates Degree.
Sheryl worked in sales for years. Most recently she worked at Home Depot and for LG Company. Sheryl never met a stranger. She loved talking to and becoming friends with everyone she met. She had an extraordinary memory for names and faces. She loved reconnecting with old friends and acquaintances. When she was still a young child, she knew all of her neighbors by name. Later she recognized people after not seeing them for decades. She had a loving heart and an outgoing personality. Sheryl loved making gardens, especially vegetable and herb gardens. She loved flowers and giving flowers as gifts. She would help plant those flowers and prune and take care of them in the following years. She especially loved taking pictures of her sons, of whom she was so proud. She made sure they were well cared for and enjoyed spending time playing games like Uno and Monopoly with them. She loved movie nights with Clay and Jake. Sheryl filled most of her life with her boys, loving and laughing with them. The time she spent with them will always be remembered and cherished. When Sheryl was about four years old, she stayed with a dear friend, Rita Wharton, while her parents were at work. Rita remembered Sheryl leaning over to smell their beautiful yellow roses. Then Sheryl smiled and said, “Isn’t God good to us? He gives us flowers!” Our hearts are comforted by knowing our loved one is with her Heavenly Father. “We know we’ll see you again Sheryl, and never have to say goodbye.”
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 04, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO.
