Cora Triplett (Gemar)

September 1, 1916 — December 30, 2015

Cora Gemar Triplett passed away at the Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence on December 30, 2015. A 32-year resident of Independence, Missouri, she was born in Fullerton, North Dakota, on September 1, 1916; one of fifteen children of August and Eva Sophia Gemar. She married Newt Curtis Triplett of Carthage, Mississippi, on June 3, 1945, in Portland, Oregon. They had two children, Wesley Allen Triplett of New York City and Wendy Lee Estep of Clinton, Missouri. Prior to moving to Independence in 1983, she resided in Fullerton, North Dakota, Portland, Oregon, Marysville, California and Muncie, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and all but one of her siblings. She is survived by her two children, two grandchildren (Larry Wayne Brown II and Tonya Dawn Howard) and five great grandchildren (Larry Wayne Brown III, Daryn Bourne, Elizabeth Brown, Taylor Bourne and Aspyn Howard). A visitation will take place from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. service on Monday, January 4, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. She will be interred in a private ceremony at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana, next to her husband of 35 years.
