Jean Marie Truman, 85 of Independence, passed away Sat. Jan 7, 2006 at the Monterey Park Nursing Center. Services will be 2:00 pm, Wed. Jan. 11, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer�s Association. Mrs. Truman was born on Dec 8, 1920 to Merrill and Florence Cate in Perry, IA. She had been a Service Officer for the Department of Missouri American Legion retiring in 1983. She had also been a licensed Cosmetician for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, spending time with her family and helping others in need. She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary and a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary. Mrs. Truman was preceded in death by her husband, Max Truman in 1996 and a son, John Blevins in 2004. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Thomas and Pat Truman of Independence and Robert and Marianne Truman of Lee�s Summit, MO. A daughter, Nancy Young and husband Robert of Independence. A daughter-in-law, Shari Blevins, of Council Bluffs, IA. Six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
