Dorothy Trumbull, 82, of Independence, MO passed away December 21, 2015. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO. Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Dorothy was born May 13, 1933 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Martin M. and Pearl B. (Ingmire) Allen. She was a woman of faith, who was very dedicated to her church. She had worked for 28 years at Sears and Roebucks and then 18 years at Stone Manufacturing. After retiring, Dorothy’s passion was serving as a foster grandparent, in the Independence School District, which she did for the last 20 years of her life. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Bennett; four sisters, Zelma Foster, Mary Bridges, Patty Wallace and Janet Hamilton; and one brother, James Allen.
