Charlene Marie Tucker, 74, passed away on Dec. 16, 2016.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 6-8 p.m., with funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Charlene was born on February 14, 1942, in Lexington, MO, to James and Dorothy (Bachlor) Simmermon. She was the first enrollee at Van Horn High School, and graduated from there in the class of 1960. She married Carl Lee Tucker, and to this union were born three sons. She worked for AlliedSignal of Kansas as a hot stamper for over 15 years. She was a member of the USO and a member of St. Ann’s Parish.
Charlene raised her sons, and she called their group, “The Fabulous Four.” She was adventurous and loved to camp, waterski, hunt, and fish. She adored the neighborhood animals, and took in many strays over the years. She also enjoyed just being around her family and friends, and loved to make people smile.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy; parents, James and Dorothy; and sisters, Jean Stafonick and Barbara Gibson.
She is survived by her sons, Jeff Tucker and Chuck Tucker (wife, Jonnava) and their father, Carl Tucker; grandchildren, James Tucker, Joshua Tucker, Sarah Spooner, and Ashley Lyman; 8 great-grandchildren; and many extended family.
