Effie Nadine Tucker

Effie N. Tucker, 89 of Spickard, MO formerly of Independence passed away Wed. Dec 20, 2006 at her home. Services will be 10:00 am Sat. Dec 23, 2006 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Indep. MO. Visitations will be held from 9 - 10:00 am immediately preceding the service. Graveside services will be 3:30 pm Saturday in Fox Cemetery, Spickard, MO. Contributions are suggested to the Fox Cemetery, c/o Farmers bank of Northern Missouri, Trenton, MO. Mrs. Tucker was born on Jul 8, 1917 to Elmer and Lula (Kinning) Amundson in Soldier, IA. Effie was the oldest of five girls. She grew up on a 160-acre farm, her parents owned. She had one year at Graceland College where she met her girl friends brother, Wayne Tucker whom she married on Aug. 12, 1937. From 1948 to 1981 she helped her husband bring up 19 foster boys and after living in Independence, MO for 57 years she with her husband moved to rural Spickard, MO where she has lived for 12 � years. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Tucker and a son Orison Tucker. She is survived by three sons, Wayne G. Tucker of San Bernardino, CA, Larry Tucker of Cocoa, FL and Robin Tucker of Spickard, MO. Two grandchildren, Mark Tucker of Spickard, MO and Deborah Mommens of Tecumseh, NE and a great granddaughter, Kalinda Tucker of Galt, MO.
