She was born Idamae Eugenie Kahler in Brunswick, MO. She lived in Kansas City, MO at 10th and Tracy and then moved to Sugar Creek, MO where she and her husband owned and operated T&D Plating. She belonged to the River Blvd Baptist Church in Sugar Creek, MO. At the time Genie and her husband were starting their business, they were also going to Mt., Washington Church in Sugar Creek. They and 6 other couples were selected to build a new church and dedicate themselves to it. They did and their whole world changed. It took a lot of hard work, both at their business and church but they made it. They were able to travel to all 50 states and to the Holy land. She had her home built the way she wanted it. Anyone who knew them on 10th and Tracy would never believe it, because they were very poor. This was a success story, she was extremely pleased with what she had accomplished. Genie was the last to survive her 13 siblings. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Jesse E. Turner in 1982; a son, Billy Gene Munson and daughter-in-law Donna Munson 1953; her step daughter, Jessie May Doss in 2003; her first husband, William Munson in 1966; a great granddaughter Angelina; and Ralph and Ray Turner. Survivors include; 4 children, Nina Holman, Roy Munson and wife Maxine, Doris Davis and husband Lewis Mansfield, all of Kansas City, MO and Elizabeth Dodson of Richmond, MO; 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren and 3 great great great grandchildren; her much loved step grandchildren and special friends Marty and Celia Erwin. The family wished to thank Northland Hospice, North Kansas City Hospital nurses and social workers.
