Robert Eugene "Bob" Turner

Robert Eugene “Bob” Turner, 93, of Independence, MO, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 surrounded by his family and holding his wife’s hand. A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, September 8th from 1:30-2:00pm with a service following at 2:00pm, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.

Bob was born in Independence, MO on April 10, 1928 to John Henry and Tiny Idell (Lentz) Turner. After graduating from DeSoto High School, he proudly served in the United States Army. On December 16, 1949, he married the love of his life, Peggy Jo Cogan in Independence, MO. Bob enjoyed a successful career employed for Ford Motor Company.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry & Tiny Idell Turner; brothers, Arthur Lee Gray, Tommy Turner and Merle Turner; and sisters, Emma Cook and Mary Koehler.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Peggy; children, Diann (Gary) Johnson and Rob (Wendy) Turner; siblings, Buford (Lily) Turner, William (Judy) Turner, Louise Redburn, Ada Greenwalt, Elsie Stites, Charles (Mary) Turner and Elizabeth Wynn; 6 grandchildren, as well as, 10 great-grandchildren.
