Roger Franklin Tuttle

March 10, 1955 — March 12, 2019

Roger Tuttle, 64, of Independence, MO passed away March 12, 2019. Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the chapel. Burial will take place in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Roger was born on March 10, 1955 in Independence, MO to Frank Jr. and Dorothy (Ferguson) Tuttle. He was a graduate of William Chrisman High School and Graceland University. Roger was a member of the Sheffield Family Life Center for many years and taught Sunday School. He was also a member of Creation Church. Roger was a member of Full Gospel Business Men. He served as a Chaplain for the tribe of Mic-O-Say, Lee’s Summit Troop 366. For the last several years Roger was employed by the Independence School District as a bus monitor. He loved caring for and interacting with the special needs children on his bus and was called affectionately “Mr. Roger”. Roger loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was lovingly called Papa Roger. He was a collector of slot cars and movies. Roger liked meeting new people and was always ready for a conversation. He always saw the best in people and never judged. Roger loved greatly and was greatly loved by everyone who met him. He will be forever missed. Survivors include: wife of over 29 years, Sharon (Stevenson) Tuttle, daughter Jennifer Tuttle and husband Chris Pittman; daughter Lisa Bruns and her husband Mark Powell; grandchildren Stacey Parsons and her husband Drew, Christina Kirshner, Steven Salazar, Taylor Lipps, Katelyn Pittman and Kyra Pittman; great grandchildren Sarah Gaumer, Brodie Parsons, William Gaumer, Knox Potter, Aydin Parsons and Moses Potter; sister Deena Graham and husband Rod; brother Frank G. Tuttle III and his wife Leslie; Dawna Christofferson and husband Dick; nephews Christopher Graham and Ryan Graham; extended family and many friends. Roger is preceded in death by daughter Cathy Lipps. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family to support Roger’s favorite children’s charities.
