Robert Edward Van Dyne, of Lee’s Summit formerly of Belle Vista, Arkansas, passed away on July 13, 2013 at Whilshire at Lakewood, Lee’s Summit.
A private family graveside service will be scheduled at a later date in the Druid Cemetery, Randelstown, Maryland. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Robert was born on November 4, 1926 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of Edward and Hazel (Borchart) Van Dyne.
He graduated from Wheeling High School. He was a United States Army Veteran. He had worked at B & O Railroad as a Main Frame Computers operator until his retirement in 1986. Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years. He loved spending time with his beloved dogs Buffie and Schnapps. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Home Shopping Network, and other electronic devices.
He is survived by two cousins; Conny Brewer and her husband, Victor, Lee’s Summit; Patty Walker and her husband Ken, Bella Vista, AR; and fifteen nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
