Dorothy Van Hoy, 91, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, November 17, 2017. A service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, November 21st at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ 727 N. Main St, Independence, MO, 64050. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Dorothy was born in Stotts City, MO on March 19, 1926 to William and Bertha (Rahmoller) Kleeman. Dorothy volunteered as a member of numerous charitable organizations and was active with her church, friends and family. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, P.E.O. Sisterhood, American Legion Post 21, and VFW Post 1000.
Dorothy is survived by her nieces Tina Knabe, Cindy Rosa, and Pam Hoffman; nephews Mark Kleeman and Ron Kleeman; 9 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Van Hoy and her brother, Donald Kleeman.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
