Hazel Campbell VanDaveer, 92, beloved wife, mother and grandmother of Independence, MO left this world to be with Jesus Christ on May 16, 2021. Hazel was born December 8, 1928 in Green Ridge, MO and was preceded in death by nine siblings, and husbands John B. Campbell and Harold VanDaveer.
She was a Homemaker, a 40 year member of Noland Road – The Gathering Baptist Church and before that First Southern Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS were she served many years as a Sunday School teacher, and countless other duties within the church.
Her love knew no boundaries and because of her kindness, she will live on in the hearts of all who really knew her. She will be missed everyday. She and John Campbell leave three children: Jerry Campbell (Judy Campbell), Nancy Spielbusch (Glen Spielbusch), and Mary Bronson (Dr. Tim Bronson); six grandchildren: Kristi Emery, Katie Campbell, Sandra Tucker, John Spielbusch, Nicholas Bronson and Amanda Hosey; and eleven great grandchildren.
Private visitation services will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel with graveside services and interment immediately following at Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.
