Roger Burton Vangordon

Roger VanGordon, 68, of Lee’s Summit, Mo passed away on October 12, 2017. A Memorial Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 2-4pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Roger was born on December 8, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to Burton and Norma (Westpfahl) VanGordon. He was a proud Navy veteran and served in the Viet Nam War on the USS Enterprise. For several years he was employed at Weld Wheels as a Parts Inspector. Roger enjoyed playing Classical Guitar, accordion, golf, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be remembered best for his Donald Duck voice! Survivors include; his wife of 43 years Marilyn (Smith) VanGordon; mother Norma VanGordon; sons Joe Moore, Preston VanGordon, and David VanGordon; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; extended family and many friends. Roger is preceded in death by his father Burton VanGordon. The family would express their thanks to the staff at Meadowbrook for their loving and compassionate care of Roger for the last 2 years.
