Harold A. Vaughan, 70 of Independence, MO, passed away Mon. Sep 22, 2003 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 3:00 pm, Sat. Sep 27, 2003 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel where a visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until service time. An inurnment will be held at a later date. Mr. Vaughan was born on Apr. 7, 1933 to Leland & Blanche Vaughan in Eldon and had lived in the Independence area most of his life. Harold was a 1959 graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia and a member of the Tau Beta Pi. He had been a Mechanical Engineer with the Vendo Corporation for 23 years, having achieved the position of Vice-president, after which he became the owner of Vaughan & Associates, Inc. retiring in 1995. He had been a member of the Eldon, MO United Methodist Church and also had attended the Eastgate Christian Church in Independence. Harold was a loving and devoted, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annette Vaughan of Independence, MO. A daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Mike Calvert of Independence, MO. Two grandchildren, Sean Calvert and Sara Calvert of Independence, MO. A sister, Jeanne Moore of Overland Park, KS. A brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Robert & Rebecca Clemens of Kearney, MO. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.
