Bettie Eileen Veit

Bettie E. Veit, 79, Independence, Mo. died Nov. 12, 2004. Services will be 2 pm, Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel: interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Bettie was born Feb. 17, 1925 in Kansas City, Mo. and graduated from Westport High School in 1943. She was a bookkeeper for City Scrap Metal in Lee�s Summit before her retirement in April of this year. She was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, Mo. Bettie was preceded in death by her husbands Merrill C. Drake in 1963 and Melvin G. Veit in 2003. She is survived by daughter Merylene J. Thompson; son Terry Drake, both of Lee�s Summit, Mo.; son Robert M. Drake, Blue Springs, Mo; daughter Lisa Gavin, Overland Park, Ks; daughter Regina M. O�Hare, Indep., Mo; son Dale A. Drake, K.C., Mo; daughter Cynthia D. Mendenhall, son Merrill C. Drake II, both of Lee� Summit, Mo; son Greg E.
