Charles Ventimiglia, 87, Independence, Mo. passed away at 1:30 am, May 17, 2005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am, Sat., May 21, 2005 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm, Friday at Speaks Suburban Chapel; the Rosary will be said at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Assoc. Charlie was born Oct. 23, 1917 in Kansas City, Mo. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and served in the Pacific Theater. He was a past President of the American Legion, a Mason, a member of the Elks Lodge, an Executive Board member of Independence Power & Light, a member of the church, and a past officer of the Operating Engineers Local #101. Charlie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty June Ventimiglia; sons Charles and Stephen and their wives; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother Tony and his wife Doris; sister-in-law Marge and numerous nephews and nieces.
