Elwin R. Vest

Elwin R. Vest, 88, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Rosewood Health Center. Memorial services will be private. Memorial contributions are suggested to Outreach International. Elwin was born September 14, 1914 in Montrose, CO to Truman and Anna Vest. He was a Community of Christ missionary and served as a Seventy. He organized the J.J. Coral Camp Ground, in Branson, MO. Elwin built many houses and buildings, among them the first building specifically for a nursing home in Iowa, and served as the administrator. Elwin was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Edra Keith, his wife Peggy, and a son, Dr. Charles Vest. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Morse of Independence, MO; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Trudora Harshman of Grand Junction, CO; and nieces and nephews.
