John Vinyard, 75, of Independence, MO passed away June 19, 2020. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at Buckner Hill Cemetery. John was born June 7, 1945 in Kansas City, MO to John W. and Betty (Agnew) Vinyard. He retired from Armco Steel in 1991, where he met his wife Linda, relocating to Stockton, MO. At that time, they continued with his fathers business of raising dogs until recently. He was an outspoken man, who would never lie to you. He loved horses, dogs, classic cars and antiques. John was a fan of boating, but could never swim. He loved his family more than anything, never met a stranger, and will be sorely missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, John E. Vinyard. John is survived by his wife, Linda Vinyard; son, David Vinyard; daughters, Sherry Powell and Michelle Watkins; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
