John Vonderahe

November 18, 1943 — August 28, 2016

John B. Vonderahe, 72, Grain Valley, MO passed away unexpectedly Aug. 28, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, Sept. 1 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 N.W. RD Mize Rd., Blue Springs, MO, 64015; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. John was born Nov. 18, 1943 in Boonville, MO and grew up there. He was an accountant for the Jones Store Company for thirty-seven years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of St. John LaLande Parish. He enjoyed yard work, trout fishing at Bennett Springs and people. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Eastern Jackson County Mainliners Railroad Club in Odessa, MO. John was preceded in death by sister Jean Knipp and brother Edward Vonderahe. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Vonderahe, of the home; daughter Carla Vonderahe, Raytown, MO; son Eric Vonderahe and wife Trishia, Kona, HI; sister Margie Moon and husband Ron, Las Vegas, NV; brothers Chris Vonderahe and wife Beth; Carl Vonderahe and wife Wanda, all of Boonville, MO; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
