Janet Paulette Vornold, 73 of Parkville, Mo passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Centerview Cemetery in Centerview, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the American Stroke Association. Janet was born September 9, 1948 in Clinton, MO to Paul D. and Dorothy (Reed) Foster and has been a longtime area resident, graduating from William Chrisman in 1966. She worked as the HR manager for SBSI and retired from the City of Independence where she worked for IPL and the water department in 2012. She enjoyed fishing, quilting, baking, especially cookies for her grandchildren, spending time at her lake home and time with her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing blackjack and bingo. She was a longtime member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church. She is survived by; 2 children, Robert Vornold and wife Brianna of Chesterfield, MI and Melinda Dake and husband Jason of Parkville; 3 sisters, Linda Sinnett of Warsaw, MO, Elizabeth Megerson and husband Jim of Lake Tapawingo, MO and DeAnn Bohon and husband Gary of Independence, MO; 4 grandchildren, Keighan, Reed, Emily and Chase. She was preceded in death by her husband William Vornold in 2011, her parents, a son, Tony Vornold in 1980, and a brother, Larry Foster in 2014.
