Lee Waisner, 85, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron, MO. A private burial will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery.
Lee was born on January 5, 1932 in Gravois Mills, MO to Oscar and Linnie (Moore) Waisner. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. On June 26, 1955 he married Georgia Walker. Together they had 2 daughters. Lee spent 32 years driving for Yellow Freight. He loved to hunt, fish, and telling stories to his family about growing up on the farm with his dog ‘Old Ring”. He also loved sports, especially the Royals, Chiefs and grandchildren’s ballgames. He could be found in the bleachers at all of the kids games, keeping stats. He was known as “Grandpa” to everyone.
Lee will be remembered by his wife Georgia Waisner of Independence, MO; daughters Kim Waisner, Kristy Edmondson and husband Don of Independence, MO; grandchildren Mitchell Edmondson of Blue Springs, MO, Ben Kisner and wife Alli of Lees Summit, MO, Bree Kisner of Independence, MO, and Donald Edmondson of Independence, MO; and great-grandchildren Hudson and Hailee Kisner.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe Waisner.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron, in lieu of flowers.
