Alice Wake (Miller)

Alice Wake, a woman who was loved by all, and will be greatly missed, passed away September 20, 2020 at Midwestern Missouri Medical Center of Warrensburg. She was 73 years old, and of Independence, MO. Services will be privately held for the family. Alice was born August 24, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Charles and Martha (Kilgore) Miller. She was the only daughter and oldest of three children. She graduated from Southeast High School. Alice worked at Kittermans in Riverside, where she met the love of her life. She married Ray Wake on October 4, 1968. Alice was a giving, wonderful mom, who loved to scare her family and friends. She also loved scary movies. Alice had a big heart and was a great person. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lowell “Ray” Wake. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Peterman and husband Lawrence of Independence, Nicole Shahan and husband Steven of Concordia three grandchildren, Ryan Peterman, Kendal and Elizabeth Shahan; two brothers, Larry Miller and wife Daphne) of Liberty, Robert Miller of Independence; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
