Lowell Wake

Lowell “Ray” Wake passed away at the age of 67, on Friday, September 20, while among family and friends at the Groves Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, on Monday, September 23, 2013.
Ray was born on July 4, 1946 in Kansas City, the son of Guy, Sr and Cuma (Hurt) Wake. He had worked at Bayer Corporation for 25 years before retiring in 2003. He loved spending time with his family and friends and being in the great outdoors fishing.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Wood, and brother Guy Wake, Jr.
Ray is survived by the love of his life of 45 years, Alice Wake, of the home in Independence; two daughters, Barbara Peterman and her husband Lawrence, Independence; and Nicole Shahan and her husband Steven, Concordia; three grandchildren, Ryan Peterman, Kendal and Elizabeth Shahan; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He may be gone but will never be forgotten. He will live in our hearts forever.
