Mary Agnes (Sappenfield) Waller, 89 of Concordia, MO; Maggie, Mom, Grandma, Granny, was given her crown of eternal life when she opened her eyes in heaven on April 15, 2016. Mary was born January 27, 1927 to Bryan and Agnes (Delles) Sappenfield of Fairmount, Missouri. She became God’s child on April 8, 1928 through the waters of Holy Baptism and confirmed in that faith. On January 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to George E. Waller. Mary was a faithful member of Timothy Lutheran Church for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Bryan and Agnes; brother, George Matthew; sister, Dorothy; and brother, Frank. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Jody); three daughters, Marlyne Hoffmann (Bruce), Carolyn Graham (Larry) and Katie Waller; five grandchildren, Shawn Hoffmann (Julie), Bryan Graham (Sherry), Susan Cour (Todd), Tiffany van Sliedrecht (Jeffrey), Kimberly Hoffmann and 13 great grandchildren: Joshua, Zachary, Jacob, Matthew Hoffmann, Abbigail, Nickolaus, Evelyn Graham, Faith, Danielle, Alexa, Adrionna Cour, Isabelle and Wesley van Sliedrecht. We as her children and grandchildren praise God for the gift of our Mom/Grandmother/Granny. We thank Him for all the years He granted to us to be with her, for all the things she taught us, for sharing Jesus with us, for all of her love, and now for the gift of peace and joy for her made perfect with the Savior she loves. Just as we inherited so many wonderful traits from Dad--the joy of laughter, a sense of humor and a good story, the strong work ethic and sense of responsibility, the enduring patriotism and love for our country, Mom has also endowed us with many traits the we continue to carry with us. One of which was her joyful humming which has been passed down to her children and grandchildren. She was gifted with her hands whether they were used in sewing, planting, baking, hugging a child, praying with a child or catching crawdads. She helped us realize how wonderful it is to use our hands to help others. And over these past few years because of Mom we’ve become more aware than ever of what it meant to put someone in God’s Hands and to trust His love. We praise God for the gift of our Mom/Grandma/Granny and look forward to the day when we can be with her once again in Heaven, where we will sing praises together to our Savior Who will love us for eternity.
