Dora Walsh was born in England, into a world in turmoil. 1933 was the year Hitler became leader of his Nazi party, the year of the bank closures and crash. It was a year when Europe was becoming torn apart.
Dora was the youngest of 6 children. She was born in Enfield England close to the Enfield rifle plant which was a target of many bombings during the "Blitz" of 1940-1941. She was transported north in 1940, as many children were to get them out of London. Her family survived unscathed by the bombings.
She was a member of the Royal Music Academy. She joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now known as Community of Christ at age 8 and later held the office of elder. She graduated college as a Nurse Mid-wife, then followed her 2 older sisters and a brother to "America" in 1956 where she met and married her life husband, Sam Walsh. Dora completed her American training and received her RN degree working for the Independence Sanitarium until it closed. She then got her master's degrees in nursing and education, working as an educator and was acknowledged with many awards in her field surpassing her 50 year award in nursing.
She was an excellent seamstress and had great enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
Dora outlived her husband and all her siblings and is survived by a daughter and 2 nieces.
