Hazel Walsh

Hazel M. Walsh, 91, of, Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, August 3, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009, at the Victory Free Will Baptist Church 4041 NE Antioch Rd. KC, MO 64117. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Donations may be made to the Maywood Baptist Church 10505 E. Winner Rd. Independence, MO 64052. Hazel was born March 6, 1918, in Doniphan County, KS to Dallas and Gertrude (Newell) Sharp. She spent her early life in Kansas before she moved to the Kansas City area in 1936, where she worked in childcare for a number of years as well as being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was married to William F. Walsh on December 31, 1949; he preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include: a son, Duane Walsh and his wife Lois of Weston, MO and a granddaughter, Crystel Walsh of Weston, MO. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
