David Wayne Wardlow, 55 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from noon until service time Friday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to Kansas City Hospice or to the American Cancer Society. David was born May 30, 1957 in Quincy, IL to Lloyd “Larry” and Theresa (Reno) Wardlow. He spent his early life in Quincy, attended public schools there before joining the US Air Force in the mid 1970’s. He had moved to the Kansas City area in 2000 and had worked as a warehouse manager for M&M Solutions. He enjoyed camping, cooking and barbequing and riding horses. He is survived by; his loving fianceé, Peggy DeLong of the home; a son, Chris Fletcher and fiancée Amanda Brader of Quincy. IL; a daughter, Tina Edwards of Quincy, IL; a brother, Steven Wardlow and wife Kathleen of Plainfield, IL; 7 grandchildren; 5 step brothers, Ken Daly and wife Dawn, Bob Daly and wife Anna, Lloyd “Bud” Miller, Dennis “Sam” Miller and wife Sharla and Ricky Arnold; 3 step sisters, Debbie Bunfill and husband Paul, Wanda Duniven and husband Mike and Rhonda Hess; 2 aunts Addie Ellerman, and Linda and husband Mike Butler; 2 uncles Rick Wardlow and Jim Young and wife Norma; step mother, Patty “PJ” Wardlow. He was preceded in death by; a son, Jeremy Fletcher; 2 brothers, Cameron Wardlow and Kelly Wardlow, his parents Lloyd “Larry” and Theresa Wardlow; 2 step sisters, Sue Slaughter and Cindy Kendrick and a step mother Juanita “Polly” Roberts.
