V. Virginia Warmington

October 12, 1913 — November 12, 2003

V. Virginia Pittman Warmington passed away Wed. Nov 12, 2003 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 11:00 am, Mon. Nov 17, 2003 at the George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial in Mt Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer�s Association of Kansas City or to North Care Hospice. Mrs. Warmington was born on Oct 12, 1913 to Fred & Pearl Pittman in Silom Springs, AR and came to Missouri as a small child. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1931. She met and married Merle Warmington; of this union they had five children. Virginia was known as "Grandma Mom� to everyone. Mom was known for the love of her garden and many many flowers and her prize-winning quilts and for her home, which she resided in for 64 years, but especially for her family. Mrs. Warmington was preceded in death by her husband in 1955 and a brother, Fred Pittman on Oct 5, 2003. She is survived by a daughter, Deloris Warmington Place and husband Nevin of Hamilton, MO. Four sons and their wives, Bob and Betsy Warmington, Ed and Shirley Warmington, Dennis and Carol Warmington, all of Independence, MO and Larry Warmington and Deb of Blue Springs, MO. One sister, Marshie Mance and husband George of Prairie Village, KS. One brother, Kerry Pittman and wife Ruby of Raytown, MO. A sister-in-law, Ginette Pittman of Kansas City, MO. Eleven grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care Mom received at the Rosewood Alzheimer�s unit and a special thank you to North Care Hospice.
