Henry S. “Harry” Waterhouse III died in Independence, MO, November 8, 2017 at the age of 92. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. service on Friday, November 17, at CrossWay Bible Church, Blue Springs, MO. A 1:00 p.m. graveside will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Harry leaves his widow, Norma Jean; three children, Hal, Jordan and Jean; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was born in Massachusetts and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a graduate of John Brown University, Siloam Springs, AR, and held a master’s degree in journalism from KU. Harry had careers in both broadcasting and journalism, serving as program director for beginning radio stations WCMR (now WFRN), Elkhart, IN, and KLJC (now KJNW), Kansas City; and city editor of the Elkhart Truth and suburban editor of the New Britain (CT) Herald. He also served four years as a Wycliffe Bible Translators short-term assistant in publications work. He retired in 1994 after 11 years in word processing and computer systems administrations for CIGNA Financial Services in Overland Park. He was active in various church capacities throughout his life and, in 1996, was named the first-ever Deacon Emeritus of Sherwood Bible Church, Kansas City.
