Marie Waterman

Ester “Marie” Waterman, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 at The Essex Assisted Living center in Grain Valley, MO. She was born on September 10th, 1927 to John and Beatrice Morrison and was the oldest of four children.

Marie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Loren Darvin Waterman. They were married 59 years and raised three children. For many years, she served and ministered alongside her husband as he pastored several churches across Missouri, Iowa and Kansas.

Marie dedicated her life to the church and her family. She was an excellent cook and hosted dinner for her family every Sunday after morning service. Marie was very generous and worked for many years at Sears to ensure her children and grandchildren could have a nice Christmas.

She was strong and independent, loyal to her husband and faithful to the Lord. She was the matriarch of a great family and “adopted” many friends of the kids and welcomed them as her own.
Marie is survived by her three children, Gary, Gale and Patty; five grandchildren, Tracey, Gayla, Shannon, Amy and Travis; twelve great-grandchildren, Jordan, Madison, Roman, Sabrina, Tanner, Riley, Olivia, Lauren, Mia, Jack, Bennett and Kendall; two great-great grandchildren, Lily and Elias.
Visitation will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel on Sunday, February 11th at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm.
