Mark R. Waterman, 58 of Independence, MO passed away July 13, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 6-8pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Mark was born on July 8, 1961 in Joplin, MO and attended Van Horn High School. After high school Mark joined the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served his country. He would go out of his way to thank others for their service to our country. For many years he was employed by the Jackson County Public Works Road and Bridge department most recently with Lake City Ammunition Plant. Mark was a very active and loving grandparent. He enjoyed coaching and watching the basketball games of his oldest granddaughters. “Pizza Sunday” was always something to look forward to and will be greatly missed by his grandson Grayson. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Mark was preceded in death by his mother Diane and sister Sherri. Survivors include; daughter
Lacey and her husband Houston; son Jeremy and his wife Teresa; sister Terri and her husband Karl; nephew Clayton; grandchildren Alannah, Alicia, Lily Anna, Grayson and Skylynn; many bonus grandchildren; extended family and friends. Mark was the type that never met a stranger and his jokes were just the right amount of corny to leave you with a great big smile. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
