Helen Elaine Waters (Browning)

Helen Waters, 84, of Independence, MO passed away April 27, 2016. A visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO, 64055. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel. Helen was born November 26, 1931 in Norborne, MO to Roy and Marjorie Browning. She married Harold, the love of her life, in 1951. She worked in the cafeteria for the Independence School District and loved making desserts, breads, and pastries. Helen had a real sweet tooth for pies, chocolate, and candy. Most of all she enjoyed caring for people and spending time with her family, especially the grand kids. She will be remembered by her son Randy Waters and wife Concetta of Oak Grove, MO; two brothers Bill Browning and wife Linda, John Browning and wife Karen; sister Jean Burge and husband John; grandchildren Jason Waters and wife Nicole, Dustin Waters and wife Kristen, Eric Waters and wife Heather, Megan Ward and husband Clayton, Ryan Waters and wife Amy, Jasmyn Ulberg and husband Clayton, and Jesse Waters; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia “Trish” Scarbo-Waters in 1999; her husband Harold Waters in 2004; and her son Rick Waters in 2016. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Crossroads hospice.
