Donna Watkins

Donna Watkins, 67, of Grain Valley, MO died on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Her family was at her side. Mrs. Watkins is preceded in death by her father, O.R. Lamberson and mother, Naomi Lamberson. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Watkins, her children, Nicole Gaulden and Matt Watkins; David Gaulden, son-in-law; Vanessa Watkins, daughter-in-law; four grandchildren, Jessica Gaulden, Catherine Gaulden, Sam Gaulden, and Gabriela Watkins; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Nixdorf, Hannah Nixdorf, and Evelyn Nixdorf. She is also survived by her brother Ralph Lamberson of Wheaton, Missouri.
Mrs. Watkins was a woman of strong faith and a proud wife, mother, and grandmother whose passions included spending time with her family and friends, her horses, dogs, and other animals. She dedicated her life to the well-being of victims of domestic violence. Her family requests that donations be made in her name to Hope House, a shelter for battered women and their families. Envelopes will be provided at services scheduled at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church on Sunday evening, October 12, 2014. Visitation is from 5-7 pm and funeral services will follow. Mrs. Watkins will be interred on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Monett, MO with a graveside service at 1:00 pm.
