William H. "Homan� Wear, 95, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will take place in Floral Hills Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. William was born October 20, 1909 in Otterville, MO to George Asa and Jessie May (Homan) Wear. Bill, as he was known at work, retired from Montgomery Ward & Co after 44 years of service in 1974. He was a Mason and had received his 50 year pin from the McDonald Lodge #324 AF & AM. Mr. Wear was a long time member of Christ United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his yard, tending to his roses, vegetable gardening and taking in the beauty of the outdoors. Homan was a serious Royals fan and loved to watch sports on T.V. He is survived by his sons John D. and wife Marilyn Wear, William M. and wife Sharon Wear all of Independence, MO; grandchildren Jill and Bill Esry, Amy and Eric Knipp, Dana and John Kelley, and Brent Wear; 7 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wear was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Ona Belle Wear, in September 2004.
