Maxine M. Weber, 85, Independence, MO, formerly of Kirksville, passed away March 16, 2014. Services will be 10 am, Friday, March 21 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at the chapel. The family requests contributions to the First Baptist Church of Independence, 500 W. Truman Road, Independence, MO 64050. Maxine was born May 22, 1928 in Adair County, MO. She graduated from Kirksville High School. She worked at the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in St. Louis, MO before moving to Independence, MO in 1988. She was a member of the Fee Fee Baptist Church in St. Louis and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence. She volunteered at the Independence Regional Health Center for several years and taught crocheting at the Palmer Senior Center. Maxine was preceded in death by siblings John D. Weber, Frank Weber, Charlie Weber, Gladys Weber, Ruth Weber and Magdalene Hoffman. She is survived by sister-in-law Irene Weber, Kirksville, MO; nephews Mike Weber and Eldon Weber; nieces Nellie Etta Weber, Janet Leonard and Darlene Smith.
