William Raymond “Bill” Weber, an ornery yet loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and great grandfather passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Independence, Missouri. He was 81. Bill was born to Clarence and Dorothy Weber in Kansas City, Missouri on September 26, 1939.
He led an extremely fulfilling life. After graduating from East High School in 1958 he proudly served many years as a seaman in the United States Navy. Bill was an inspiration, he was someone many young men looked up to and he volunteered most of his time coaching young athletes. Amongst those was “The Babe Ruth Team” which he led to win the national tournament in Illinois in 1974. In total, Weber coached seven future NBA players and three future Major League Baseball players. Bill helped to bring Pop Warner football to Independence, Missouri and taught many young men the love of the game. When Bill wasn’t spending his time giving to others, he found peace in a good game of racquetball or on the golf course. He had a light about him, could always put a smile on your face, was extremely opinionated and loved people with his whole heart. Bill will be greatly missed by every single life that he’s touched.
He is survived by his beloved wife Georgetta “Jean” Weber; his sons Phillip Weber (Traci), Doug Weber (Deanna) and Bryan Weber (Denise); his step-daughter, Debbie (Nichols) Hill and her husband Monte; sister, Loretta Lopez; sister in laws, Judy Blundell, Gladys Dyer, Linda Hisle (husband Wally);
