Marvin F. “Mickey” Weeks, of Avondale, MO, left this world on November 4, 2017. Services will be 2 pm, Sat., Nov. 11 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Children’s Tumor Foundation, Rett’s Syndrome or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Mickey was born on July 7, 1942 to Ralph C. and Ruth L. (Wood) Weeks, in Jackson County, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1962 before serving as a corpsman in the U.S. Army at Ft. Lewis, WA. He worked at Suzanne Lighting and then for Master Pitch until he retired.
Mickey served his community as a volunteer firefighter for Avondale, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings: Ruth E. Dobbins, Ralph L. Weeks, Erwin L. Weeks, Waymuth Webb, David C. Weeks, and Byron G. Weeks; and three nieces: Della Fisher, Karla Weeks, and Hope Blankenship.
He is survived by three sisters: Norma C. Senter, Erma I. Rowley, and Lois A. Rajpal and 15 nieces and nephews and their families. He also leaves many friends.
