Jeannette E. (Parsons) Weldon, 96, Independence, MO passed away Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Jeannette was born Feb. 22, 1910 in Wray, CO to Arthur and Mary (Foster) Parsons, the middle of seven children. After graduating from high school in Goodland KS, she taught in a country school there for one year before attending Graceland College with her older sister, Alice. While there, she met and later married Walter Weldon in 1932. He preceded her in death in 1997, after which she moved to White Oak Living Center of The Groves. During their 65 years together they owned and operated a bee business in Moorhead, IA and Winner, SD, before retiring to Independence, MO in 1976. Jeannette was a member of The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her children, Marjorie Hahn and son-in-law, Dr. Fred Hahn, Kansas City, MO; and Lloyd A. Weldon, Eudora, KS; five grandchildren: Debra Hahn White and spouse Gary; Kathryn Hahn; Kevin Weldon and spouse Brenda, Kimberly Weldon and Randy Weldon; ten great-grandchildren; Jennifer Rinas, Katie Rinas, Laura Rinas, Amy White Klepac, Stephen Shivers, April Besser, Christopher Weldon, Caitlin Mitton, Aden Weldon and Seth Weldon; sisters Alice Ingram, Independence; Elsie Buster-Fox, Larned, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 am, Sat., May 20, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; entombment at Mound Grove Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to The Organ Fund of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ.
