Dean Edward Wescott

Dean Edward Wescott, of Independence, MO passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. He was 62. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 31st, with a funeral service at 10am on Wednesday June 1st, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Interment will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence.

Dean was born on October 17, 1959, in Kansas City, MO to Jackie Eugene and Shirley Lee (Jordan) Wescott. He graduated from Truman High School in 1978. Dean married Rebecca Ann Osborne on November 23, 1985, in Independence, MO and to this union were born two children.

Dean worked for Minsky’s Pizza for 45 years (1977 to present), 34 of those years as a franchise owner and operator. He was a member of Troop #253, a Hardway Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He enjoyed vacationing and traveling throughout the states. He had a great love for his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca; son, Ryan (Dawn) Wescott, daughter, Amber (Chris) White, parents, Jackie and Shirley Wescott; brother Doug (Mary) Wescott; sisters, Dorla (Tim) Kenworthy and Dixie Wescott; mother-in-law, Beverly Osborne; grandchildren, Laney, Henley and Bristol Wescott, Jordyn and Wesley White, Brady, Beckett, and Colson Jones; and many additional nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
