Elmer Lyle Wescott, 78, of Independence, MO passed away on July 9, 2005 at the Regency Care Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel, with burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Lyle was born in Kansas City, MO on April 20, 1927 and spent most of his childhood in the area. After serving in the United States Army, he graduated from Central Technical Institute and worked for Bendix Electronics from 1957 until 1960. He then went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration and retired in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of the home; three daughters, Laura and husband Patrick O�Donnell, Chillicothe, MO, Virginia Wescott, Verona, WI and Dana Gormly, Lee�s Summit, MO; one stepson, David and wife Beverley Hodge, Independence, MO; one stepdaughter, Diane and husband Dan Fitzpatrick, Independence, MO; ten grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan and Lindsey O�Donnell, Neal Bellamy, Nicholas Gilbert, Jessica France, Allison and Chelsea Stanley, Jacob Gormly and Caitlin Fitzpatrick; one great-granddaughter, Madison Bellamy; one brother, Roger and wife Carol Wescott; and one sister, Thelma and husband Jerry Wanninger. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, and remembered for his love of family, projects and weekends at the �Lake�.
