Lillie Alice West, 87, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
Alice was born October 30, 1926 in Bexley, OH the daughter of George R. and Lillie (Cooper) Wheeler. She worked as an X-ray technician for over 30 years with the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital and local Doctor’s offices. Alice was a longtime member of the Laurel Club and the Community of Christ Cornerstone Congregation. Alice enjoyed knitting, cooking and was a fabulous baker.
She was preceded in death by her son, John C. West in 2007; four sisters; one brother; and her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband Warren S. West; son, Robert W. West (Jo Rita); grandchildren, Jessica R. Genet (Michael), Jacquelyn R. West (Jeremy), John C. Gabbert (Melissa), and Justin A. West (Nicole); great grandchildren, Alexandra and Jaxon Gabbert, and Olivia West; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery.
