Charles LeRoy Wheatley, 65, of Independence, MO, passed away February 14, 2014 at home after a 5 year battle with prostate cancer.
Charles was born on September 3, 1948 in Independence, MO to Warren D Wheatley and Betty Rose (Cook) Liedeke (deceased).
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine (Potter) Wheatley; his 3 children: Christopher Bauschka and wife Shannon of San Francisco, CA, Elizabeth Wheatley of Allen, TX, and Warren E. Wheatley and wife Amanda Bailey of Plano, TX; his 4 grandchildren: Jude Robinson, Abigail Bauschka, Audrey Bauschka, and Ava Wheatley; his father, Warren D. Wheatley and stepmother Virginia Wheatley, and stepfather Len Liedeke; his siblings: Ken Wheatley and wife Connie, Luanne Hanford, Darrel Wheatley and wife Kristen, Brent Wheatley and wife Marcie, Beth Martens and husband Joel, and brother in law John Dyck; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Liedeke; and sister Marlene Dyck. Visitation will be held between 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO.
