Sharron Whisler, 73, passed away June 19, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6-8pm at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Sharron was born on September 12, 1943 in Lowell, Arkansas to Garland and Bertha (Sims) Simpson. She had worked as a manager of many retail clothing stores including Osh Kosh and most recently with Christopher and Banks at the Independence Center. Sharron enjoyed watching her home town teams, Royals and Chiefs, cooking for her family, and gardening. She enjoyed being outside whenever possible, planting flowers and banana trees or just mowing the grass. She enjoyed passing on her favorite recipes to her grandchildren (Ella), most notably her famous hot rolls and lasagna. She made friends with everyone including many neighbors, her friends at the Ke She will be forever loved and missed by her family. Survivors include; daughters Tammie Gulley and Tiffani with her husband Gabe; grandchildren Jimmie Gulley, Tristan Bevan, Corbin Bevan, and Ella Bevan; great grandchildren, Jaxson Gulley, Jordan Gulley, and Serenity Cox; sister Sondra Whisler; her special fur baby “Baby”, many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Sharron is preceded in death by her parents, son Timmie Lee Whisler, and brother Jay Simpson. Memorial contributions in Sharron’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
