W. C. "Buster" Whisler

W. C. "Buster� Whisler, 84 of Liberty, MO passed away, Tue. Jun 8, 2004 at the Ashton Court Care & Rehabilitation Center. Services will be 1:30 pm, Fri. Jun 11, 2004 at the George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm, Thursday at the Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer�s Association. Mr. Whisler was born on Oct 20, 1919 to Abraham and Geneva Whisler in White City, KS and has lived in the Kansas City area most of his life. Buster had been a Switchman with the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was the original owner of Liberty Bend Auto Salvage and one of the original owners of the I-70 Speedway in Odessa. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW in Odessa and the D.A.V. Buster was preceded in death by a grandson Timmie Whisler in 1991, a brother, Elvin Whisler and a sister, Irma Faye Whisler. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Whisler of Liberty. A son, Freddie Whisler of Independence. A daughter and son-in-law, Sally Jo and Jack Cecil of Liberty. Five grandchildren, Mark Cecil, Mike Cecil, Nettie Klestinske, Tammy Gulley and Tiffanie Bevan. Eight great grandchildren, a brother, Oran Whisler of Oak Grove, MO and one sister Bonnie Clements of Clinton, MO.
