Ricky Gene White

Ricky Gene White, 61 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Rick was born November 30, 1958 in Independence, MO to Curtis G and Tina (Greenway) White and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local #41 for 27 years and later for MODOT for 14 years until he retired in 2018. He was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan who enjoyed playing pool, darts and most of all spending time with his grandson. He blessed us all with his witty and humorous personality. Always joking and trying to bring a smile to everyone he met. He is survived by; his loving wife of 38 years, Janet of the home; a daughter, Jessica (White) Mullin and husband Anthony and their son, Sawyer of Pleasant Hill, MO; a brother, Curtis White and wife Nicole of Blue Springs, MO; 3 sisters, Cathy Boutross and husband Steve, Kelly Romdall and husband Barry all of Independence, MO, and Tracy and husband Jim White-Baldridge of Blue Springs, MO and many nieces, nephews cousins friends and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, ReAnna White in 2012 and his parents. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to the Brain Injury Injury Association of Missouri, 2265 Schuetz Rd., St. Louis, MO 63146.
