Thelma Mae White, 83 of Independence, MO passed away on Fri. May 23, 2003 at the Carmel Hills Living Center. Services will be 1:30 pm Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the George C. Carson & Sons Funeral Home. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral Home. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimers Association. Mrs. White was born on Jan. 5, 1920 to Fred and Ida Milstead in Southerland, NE and has lived in the Independence area most of her life. She had been a Seamstress for many years and had also managed the sandwich shop at the B & B Drug Store during the mid to Late 1960�s. She was a member of the S.O.S (Sisters of Sorrow) and had been a volunteer at the Independence Regional Health Center for many years. She had previously attended the Community of Christ Stone Church. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett A. White in 1973 and by her best friend, Katherine Westwood. She is survived by two sons, Richard White and wife Barbara of Independence, MO and Robert C. White of Reno, NV. Four Grandchildren, David White, Greg White, Stacy White and Tina Berning. Eight great grandchildren, Courtney, Chelsea, Garrett, Greyson, Emily, Michaela, Jamie and Kevin. Also by a sister Dorothy of Sterling, CO.
