Bernita Faye Whitlock

Bernita Faye "Bea� Whitlock, 70, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Liberty Terrace Health Center. Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8:00 pm at the chapel. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Bea was born February 17, 1935 in Rosecreek Township of Republic County, KS to Christopher and Anna (Baxa) Malstead. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Independence. Bea loved her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities. Mrs. Whitlock is survived by her sons William Scott Whitlock of Independence, MO, Darrell Lee Whitlock and wife Donata Whitlock of Liberty, MO; and David Russell Whitlock of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Melissa, Melody, Nicole and Nathan; great-grandchildren Haley, Christopher, Caleb, Sierra and Sequoyah; sister Genevie Herndon of Cameron, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bea was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Gilbert Whitlock in May of 2004, her parents, sisters Florence and Avalene, and a brother Ruben.
