Christopher Allen "Chris" Whitson

Christopher Allen Whitson, 39 of Independence, MO passed away (unexpectedly) Sunday, July 26th, 2020 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Chris was born June 23rd 1981 in Independence, MO.

Chris was a Maintenance Technician by trade. He enjoyed watching baseball and football, fishing, spending time with his loved ones and his beloved dog Kush. His favorite teams were the Royals and the Raiders, but he could watch any team play and enjoy it. Chris was a quiet person, but that would not keep him from being the first one to lend a hand if anyone ever needed. Chris was a caring husband, father, son, brother and friend, who will be greatly missed.

Chris is survived by his parents Dan and Brenda Byrd, wife of 11 years Mary Whitson, Daughters, Hannah Whitson and Jaelynn Collins, Son, Michah Foote; Brother, Brad Whitson; Aunts, Carrie Sue Eaton and Cynthia Battaglia; Uncle, Bill Whitson; Cousins, Carmen Gfeller, Melissa DeLany and Amanda Whitson; Second Cousins who Chris loved as his own; Nieces and Nephew, Bailee, MaKenna, Carlee and Damian; Brother-In-Laws, Daniel Driver, Tommy Driver, David Driver, Matthew Green (All of which who loved Chris as if he were related by blood.); 4 Beautiful Grandchildren. Carson, Emma, Kennedy, and Asher; Nephews, Clark, Brody, Wyatt, Zach and Luca; Nieces, Lahna, Kylie, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Cammie, Alli, and Keeley; as well as his Father-in-Law, Thomas A. Driver, Mother-in-Law, Lilia Green; and Step Father-in-law, Ed Williams.

Chris was preceded in death by his Grandparents Clifford W. Whitson and Patricia A. Whitson and Uncle Dennis Whitson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday July 30, 2020 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave Independence, MO at 12:30 PM.
